Meet the FSR: Jacob Brosterhous

Columbia Forest Products is proud to introduce (or reintroduce) customers and employees to our Field Sales Representative, Jacob Brosterhous. Jake joined our team back in 2024 and oversees a large portion of Columbia’s west coast sales territory.

With more than two decades of experience in distribution, Jake brings deep industry knowledge, strong customer relationships and a genuine appreciation for the people who make this business what it is.

Starting in Distribution

“More than two decades ago, I began my career in distribution, not fully realizing the path it would set me on,” Brosterhous explains. “What started as a job quickly turned into a 24-year journey of growth, learning, and building lasting relationships within the industry.”

Over the years, he developed a deep understanding of the distribution landscape, gaining the kind of hands-on experience and practical insight that would later prove invaluable. His time in distribution helped shape his work ethic, strengthen his customer relationships, and build a strong foundation in product knowledge and service.

Coming to Columbia Forest Products

After 24 years in distribution, Jake took the next step in his career by joining Columbia Forest Products as a Field Sales Representative. “Transitioning into this role felt like a natural progression,” he shares. “My background in distribution has given me a unique perspective that allows me to better understand customer needs and provide real solutions.”

Today, he makes a point of bringing that experience to his role, helping customers navigate their options while representing a company known for quality and reliability. He sees his years in the industry as having positioned him to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact.

Reflections on the Journey

“Looking back, I’m grateful for every step along the way,” Brosterhous says. “The relationships I’ve built and the lessons I’ve learned over the past 24 years have prepared me for this opportunity.”

Jake mentions feeling grateful for the opportunity to be a part of a team like Columbia Forest Products. One that values integrity, hard work, and strong customer partnerships.

Family Life & Hobbies

Outside of work, Jacob Brosterhous’ greatest joy is spending time with his family. “My favorite thing is being with my kids — Dean, Haven and Carter — and supporting them in everything they do,” he says.

Whether it is attending sporting events, cheering from the sidelines or simply enjoying time together at home, family always comes first. He is especially grateful for his wife, Christina, whose support has been a constant throughout both his career transition and everyday life. “Christina has been by my side through it all,” he shares. “Her support means everything to me and has made this transition possible.”

When he has the chance, Jake also enjoys getting out on the golf course, embracing both the challenge and the fun that comes with the game. As he begins this new chapter with Columbia Forest Products, he looks forward to building new relationships, growing in his role and continuing to provide for the people who matter most to him.

“I’m excited for what’s ahead,” Jacob Brosterhous says. “This opportunity allows me to combine everything I’ve learned with what I love most — working with people and supporting my family.”

Jake has very quickly become an important part of the Columbia Forest Products team, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.
