Grow. Transform. Innovate —The Columbia Way
Hi, my name is Matthew Miceli!
I’m a rising Senior at Appalachian State University, majoring in Exercise Science with a focus on pursuing a career in Health and Safety.
Though I now call Raleigh, NC, home, I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and carry a bit of both places with me wherever I go. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to tour a variety of industrial sites—including brick plants and mines, which has deepened my understanding of workplace safety and sparked my passion for creating safer working environments.
My interest in this field was also shaped early on by my mother, who has spent many years in Human Resources. Through her, I was introduced to several inspiring HR and Health & Safety professionals who helped guide me toward this career path.
I’m excited to be joining Columbia Forest Products as a summer intern at the Old Fort location. I look forward to contributing to a culture of safety, protecting the well-being of every team member, and ensuring that everyone goes home the same way they arrive — safe and sound.
Hi, my name is Miles Allison!
As a rising Senior at Appalachian State University, I am pursuing a degree in Business Management with a strong interest in operations, sales and team leadership. My background includes hands-on experience in the building materials industry.
I am certified on both the panel and arm saw and have developed a solid understanding of retail operations, customer service, inventory control and workplace safety. These experiences have sharpened my communication skills, attention to detail and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
I’m eager to combine my business education with real-world experience through the internship experience with Columbia Forest Products.

Hi, my name is Michael Lewis!
I am from Marion, NC. I’m currently pursuing a degree in General Management with a minor in Accounting at Appalachian State University. Outside of academics, I enjoy staying active — whether it’s working out, running, or hiking in the mountains.
I sought an internship with Columbia Forest Products to expand my professional network, gain hands-on experience, and develop a deeper understanding of the decorative hardwood plywood industry.
Returning as a second-year intern at the Old Fort location, I’m excited to learn from industry professionals, explore real-world business operations, and grow both personally and professionally through this opportunity.
Hi, my name is Clayton Lee!
I recently completed my second year at Colorado State University, where I’m pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Biology. My academic interests are rooted in a strong passion for the environment and a commitment to sustainable land and wildlife management.
My work experience is diverse and has helped shape my strong work ethic and adaptability. In addition to work and school, I’m actively involved in community service through organizations like AmeriCorps and Ducks Unlimited. Volunteering has deepened my appreciation for teamwork, leadership and giving back to causes that matter.
I’m excited to continue growing personally and professionally through an internship with Columbia Forest Products!
Hi, I’m Addison Sepesi!
Recently, I completed my second year at NC State University, where I’m pursuing a double major in Sustainable Materials & Technology and Environmental Science.
I’m passionate about sustainability and finding innovative ways to make a positive environmental impact. In my free time, I enjoy reading and have recently taken up running as a new personal challenge.
I’m incredibly excited to be part of the Columbia Forest Products internship program this summer. I’m looking forward to learning, growing, and gaining hands-on experience in a company that aligns with my values and academic goals.
