The First Annual Art from the Heart Auction was held on Sunday, February 10, 2013 for the Elizabeth Carr Memorial Fund at the Severna Park Community Center in Severna Park, Maryland.

The Elizabeth Carr Memorial Fund partnered with the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center and provided patients with art supplies and various materials that were painted (canvases, side tables, stools, chairs, mailboxes, etc.). The painted plaques which were auctioned off at the event were made from blank panels of PureBond hardwood plywood donated by Columbia Forest Products for the event!

The event was a huge success, with overwhelming support and generous donations so that they were able to extended their outreach beyond the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center to other young patients (many of which are local) who have been/are being treated for a childhood illness. These artists also helped by painting additional pieces that were auctioned off at the event.

Funds raised for the event amounted to $4,585 and were matched by the Elizabeth Carr Memorial Fund will directly benefit the Child Life Department of the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center 🙂
