Update on our Columbia Forest Products Turkey Day 5K

Check out this update from an earlier posting the 5K Turkey Day that Columbia Forest Products sponsored on November 23rd via our mill in Chatham, VA.

Per Kevin McDaniel, our Safety Facilitator at our Chatham, VA facility the run is called the Turkey Day 5K since it takes place so close to Thanksgiving.  Columbia donated money and canned goods to a place called God’s Storehouse which helps feed families throughout Pittsylvania County and the city of Danville.  In fact, we are very proud to announce that Columbia Employees gathered around 105 pounds of canned goods and donated $1000 for this event 🙂 Participant, Kevin Ferrell, won overall and for the men and Lisa Bowen, won for the women.

In addition, as part of our fit initiative, Columbia’s wellness team came together throughout the year and brainstormed on wellness activities for all the employees and one result was that this year Columbia also did a Biggest Loser competition which had a total of 20 participants.

Check out some of the fabulous photos from the Turkey Day 5K below!
