March 2022 Message From Our CEO

March 2022 Message From Our CEO

  • February 28, 2022
  • by Greg Pray, President and CEO

Something’s telling me we’re lining up for a year of positive transition.  A phase where disruption gives way to continuity, and clouds on the horizon evaporate to reveal a sharper view of the future.

I don’t want to get carried away with unfounded optimism — the skeptic in me keeps that suppressed — but I believe that the Columbia Team (family) is experiencing what appears to be “getting back to normal.”  Or maybe, we’re just getting used to the madness.

On the COVID front, our facilities are reporting fewer weekly cases. The numbers vary from mill to mill, but these are important data points that are looking better.

Economically, I think we should all stop now and then to remind ourselves how strong our economy is and take comfort in that. Yes, we all have frustrations with our supply chains that we never thought we’d have to wrestle with, but we’re operating on a foundation of real vitality — and that’s a very good thing.

Nick’s story below discusses the two sides of the residential marketplace — new housing and home remodeling. Again, strong prospects continue before us.

Columbia is also introducing a great new product for homes, as well as restaurants, stores, hotels and schools — PureBond Wall Planks. You can see and read more about them in an article below.

And I want you to know that the entire Columbia Family is working hard on everything from materials, logistics, quality and IT to new products like I’ve never seen before.

We all thank you for your business and your patience, as we work to satisfy your needs in today’s challenging climate while developing new ideas for our shared future.
