Supporting Disaster Victims in the Logging Community

You may recall the tornadoes that devastated parts of Kentucky late last year, and the story about the Old Fort Caring Team’s response.  This summer, historic flooding has affected many of the logging and coal mining communities in the mountain region of Kentucky.

The flooding brought devastation on a monumental scale to these areas. Many families have lost lives, homes, and everything in their possession due to the flooding.

The Old Fort Caring Team, Kim Presnell and Hank Swinney, accepted the call to action by Jenny Gibson of Gibson Logging in Duffield, VA to provide flood relief support for residents of Letcher County, KY.

We are thankful as a Caring Team to able to partner with Ms. Gibson and the Letcher County communities, providing hope and necessary items to help in relief efforts.
